Sweden - USA 1-1

Yes, we were all winners this evening when the USA welsh friends came visit.

My husband and I had a visit from Meghen Bassel, kennel Statesman USA and Sandy Holmes, kennel Trystyn USA. They stayed in Sweden for 6 days and they wanted to see as many welsh springers as possible. I had made plans for some weeks and I think we really made the most of these few days. We went to visit different kennels and went over their dogs, we visited some homes with welsh springers and in Stockholm they had also planned a welsh meeting, with very short notice, but still some 10 dogs turned up.
 

Small show

On the evening of the 25th of May we arranged a big "welsh-meeting" in Örebro. Some 25 lovely welshies came to enjoy the "event". We arranged a small show were dogs and "handlers" did there very best to impress Meghen (judge) and Sandy who was filming all the dogs. The dogs ranged from 3 month old lovely puppies to a real gentleman of 15+, what about that?
 

Every ten years...?

Meghen Bassel and her mother Susan Riese (both kennel Statesman) were visiting us ten years ago and then we also arranged a meeting in the very same spot, a spectacular water tower in the shape of a huge mushroom. I think we were about the same number of dogs then.

So maybe it will be a tradition every ten years..., but we, of course, hope it will be sooner, much sooner!
